  2. Five Asian nations - China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand - accounted for up to 60% of the plastic waste that ends up in oceans.
In June last year, a whale died in Thailand after swallowing 80 plastic bags.
Its death came shortly after a report for the UK government revealed the level of plastic in the ocean could triple in a decade unless steps are taken to curb litter.
Today, a dead whale that washed up in the Philippines had 40kg of plastic bags inside its stomach. There were 16 rice sacks in its stomach, as well as "multiple shopping bags". So… what do you think? If we don’t do anything all our marine animals will die and it will be worse every time.

    1. Not so long ago, two chilean scientists invented a new type of plastic bag that disolves in water, at first I thought that it would be just a bad, because I thought it would intoxicate the water, but it turns out that it doesn’t. I still think people shouldn’t use these bags as an excuse to throw waste into the ocean :)

  3. Today, March 19, the chairman of "Metro de Santiago" discussed the chance of installing doors in the platform, that only open when the train has already stopped, this safety measure has already been taken in the line 3 and 6, but not in the older lines.
They state that they would like to install them, and by doing so many accidents like the ones that happened last Monday, where two people fell into the Metro, one in line 1 and another in line 4, could be prevented, however it is hard doing so since they would need to improve the Metro technological system, also the stations would need to be closed for months in order to install the doors, which is unlikely mainly for the most used lines like the line 1.

    1. I think that instaling doors on lines 3 and 6 woudnt be a solution because they can still jump over the doors, and they would cost a lot of money to install

      Eliminar
    2. I think that installing doors in the platform would be an excellent idea in spite of being an expensive measure because it would prevent people from falling by chance and it would also prevent people from trying to suicide and if someone tries to jump over these doors there is more time to stop him and help him.

    3. I am glad that Metro is making studies to improve technology so it will be saftier for the people to use it. I hope those studies show that this is a good measure to prevent other accidents. Thank you for this information.

    4. I believe that this measure is a great idea to prevent more suicides in the metro rail, not only for people who decides to take that decision to finish their lives, but also for people who needs to travel in the city, and this scenary also takes time on them because metro has to stop their activities to investigate and perform the protocol for this cases. But also I believe that putting doors is not the only solution that has to be taken, people needs help in their life, and is a big responsability of everyone to take care of us and be attentive if anyone is sad, or is thinking that finish their lives is a good decision

  6. A young Iranian couple have been arrested after a marriage proposal in public that was captured on a video clip that went viral on social media. The police say the pair offended Islamic mores on public decency but were later released on bail.
The video, which spread on social media on Friday, shows the young man standing in a heart-shaped ring of flower petals next to colourful balloons in a shopping mall in the central Iranian city of Arak.
Iranian hardliners perceive public displays of affection as result of allegedly corrupt influence of western culture that threatens morals in this conservative Islamic society. The Islamic Republic’s strict rules forbid gender mixing in public.
I still can’t believe how this things continue to happen in the 21st century!

  15. Justin Bieber is stepping away from music because of deep rooted issues.
In an Instagram post on Monday 25, Bieber wrote that he have been reading messages from his followers expressing a desire for a new album to come. So in his post he reply that he doesn’t want to be seen unhappy like in his last tour because none of his fans deserved to see him like that.
Since he has married Hailey Baldwin, he has been putting aside the music with the purpose of getting totally focused on repairing his deep rooted issues, for sustaining his marriage and being the father he wants to be.
Justin added “Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health.”
I am completely in agreement with Justin's words, because just like he said, you can really loved what you do (a sport, maybe your work, a hobby, whatever...) but priorities are priorities. Family and our health always come first.

  20. This Thursday, March 28, the art conservation charity English Heritage discovered that what was thought to be an imitation of the popular Boticelli painting "Madonna of the Pomegranate", was actually an original work of Boticelli's workshop. In the Renaissance, the time when this painting was made, it was common practice for workshops to paint various copies of a single piece for more profit. It was previously thought to be an imitation due to the overpaint and protective varnish layered on top, but recent restoration showed that the underlying painting is actually very similar in technique to the original piece, and is most probably an original twin.

I think this shows that even in this day and age not everything is set in stone, and experts can also be proven wrong. It also shows that this kind of uncertainty, which we recently saw in "Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet" by Rembrandt, is fairly common in the art world.

Fellow players have accused Donald Trump of being “the world’s worst cheat at golf” in an explosive new book that draws parallels between the US President’s on-course antics and his approach to the White House.
Mr Trump has made golf a major symbol of his brand, both inside and outside of the White House, repeatedly using his own golf courses as a backdrop to media meetings and diplomacy.
The new book, to be released in the US on Tuesday local time, reveals that Mr Trump’s golfing history presents a world in which bravado (a show of courage, especially when unnecessary, to make people admire you) overshadows the truth of the President’s claims, and Mr Trump seemingly doesn’t care who is aware of the lengths he’ll take to win, openly cheating while playing with luminaries in film, golf, or music.

In Chile, in a school in Aysen, teachers are teaching students how to use tech equipment such as 3D Printers and computer programs in order to prepare them for a more technological future in which traditional subjects wont be enough to be an accomplished professional. Other countries such as China, USA, Norway and Mexico keep using technology to reach more students and make them conscious of the world they will work in. Such is the case of Puerto Rico, that in addition to use technology to educate children about jobs, they make them come up with ways to solve problems caused by natural disasters such as the hurricane that hit the country in 2017. The world is evolving fast and education should keep up, so I believe that ideas such as these help us make the younger generations more adept to the future.

The spire of the 850-year-old building was completely destroyed in the blaze. Meanwhile, cathedral bells across France rang out in solidarity with Notre-Dame on Wednesday.
The entire cathedral was only minutes away from total destruction. However, much of the building survived, and thoughts have now turned to how to reconstruct what has been lost. They said it would be rebuilt “even more beautifully” although experts warn its reconstruction could take decades.
I am really sad about the Notre-Dame cathedral´s fire, because it is a significant monument and known from places all around the world, I hope it can be reconstructed soon… Poor French people :(

However, this meteorite was smaller than the one that almost hit our planet, so the consequences of the impact would have been fatal.
