Attempted coup in Venezuela

Today, April 30, the self-declared interim president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, declared that the "third phase of Operation Freedom" had begun. What made this declaration highlight in the middle of the chaos in the country is the fact that he appears surrounded by military soldiers and the previous leader of the political opposition, Leopoldo López. Up to now the Venezuelan military had supported Maduro inconditionally, frustrating most of the attempts of the opposition to take his power by force, but now some parts of the military appear to support Guaidó. Additionally, the former leader of the opposition, Leopoldo López, who was under arrest until today, seems to have broken free, further proving that the military is no longer completely supporting Maduro. The support of the military was the last spark needed to start the fire, and today supporters of the opposition have taken the fight to the streets, starting riots all over Venezuela. Some members of the military are on...
April 2019 Kyle Rohrig, the experienced hiker, traveled more than a thousand kilometers around the world next to his blind dog called Katana. The journey was planned a year ago with an itinerary that would last 3 months from January to April this year. His dog, Katana, suffered a disease called glaucoma that left her blind, so they had to cancel the original plan. Despite what happened, Kyle decided to travel with her and took Katana in his arms all the way long, so she could experience the journey. Would you do the same for your pet?
the past 25 of April in the village of Irma Dulce, in the state of Piaui, where this "super obedient" feathered bird has kept its beak stubbornly closed after Brazilian police captured him for having warned his owners of a drug trafficking raid. The bird had been trained to scream "Mama, the police!" Whenever police officers approached, they informed the local media. Many policemen have come and the bird has not said anything, said a local veterinarian. The police show the parrot sitting quietly on a counter while officers rummage through drug paraphernalia. The bird, whom reporters in that country have been calling "drug lord parrot", was handed over to a local zoo.
Remember that the deadline for this period is April 30th.
Today, april 23rd, Saudi Arabia executed 37 men convicted of terror-related crimes,  and on e of the convicts was crucified.  The death penalty was implemented on criminals because of adopting extremist terrorist ideologies and forming terrorist groups, disrupting security and spreading chaos. Saudi Arabia has one of the highest death penalty rates in the world. The country carried out one of its largest mass executions in January 2016 when 47 people were put to death, because of being accused of terrorism and  extremist ideology.  -Sofia sprenger
Last year Lollapalooza festival in Chile  made history by reaching a new record of two hundred and fifty thousand people, but many people think that this year the number was much lower. Most televisión media think it is due to the fact that this years’ artists were “not as common” as years before, but I think thats this is not true. Lenny Kravits, Sam Smith, Post Malone, Arctic Monkeys...etc are very well known artists, but I think most of the music by this years’ artists is aimed at  more young and innovated crowds. This is why I think there is room for error, what do you think?
Can a city cancel out its greenhouse gas emissions? Copenhagen intends to, and fast. By 2025, this once-grimy industrial city aims to be net carbon neutral, meaning it plans to generate more renewable energy than the dirty energy it consumes. I think it’s amazing how people are taking matter into their own hands regarding pollution. We should be doing ten same thing!

Study on twins of the effects of extended space flights

This Thursday, April 11, a study of the effects of long-term space travel was released in the Science Journal. What makes this study special is that the two subjects of the study are twins, Scot Kelly and Mark Kelly. Scott was sent on a mission to the International Space Station from March 2015 to March 2016, while Mark stayed on Earth the whole time. Scientists at NASA had been analyzing data since then, and have come up with very interesting results. First of all, scientists noticed that gene expression in Scott changed while he was in space. This does not mean that his genes actually changed, but rather that different genes were activated during the flight. More concretely, three main changes were observed. First, his gut microbiome changed dramatically during the flight, but returned to normal after coming back. Second, the shape of his eye changed during the flight, which is thought to occur due to the lack of gravity. But most importantly, his telomeres, which are protective st...
04/11/2019. A child with autism reports the bullying of his teacher in a letter to the principal and the school ignores him. The chile wrote this: "I write to ask you to authorize me to leave the subject of religion because the teacher bothers me and says' I do not exist," says the child in the letter. I believe that in some schools the directors do not listen to their students and consequently there is a lot of bulling in them, hopefully they can solve what happened to this child.
Yesterday (11/04/19) Chilevision Noticias unveiled the case of seven chilean kids that are leaving alone inside of the Islamic State due to the death of both of his parents. Fortunately their grandfather, who lives in Sweden is taking care of the situation but it was very difficult to him at the start because the Swedish Gobernment did no pay any attention to him at the start until the Chilean Gobernment asked directly to them. Now they are discussing the rescue of these children and hopefully they will be soon reunited with their grandfather. Their grandfather declared that he doesn't knows if he is taking them to Sweden or to Chile. I really hope that this kids are soon reunited with their grandfather because they shoudn't be paying for the mistakes of their parents.
Last tuesday an image of a black hole and its shadow has been captured for the first time. Several of the missions were part of a large effort to observe the same black hole using different wavelengths of light and collecting different information to understand the black holes’ enviroment. THIS GREAT New discovery was thanks to the hard work and effort of Katie Bouman. Accompained by her team, they created the algorithm to be able to see this image. I think this is an amazing discovery and it would have been even more amazing if Stephen Hawking would have been here to see it <3
